Product Specific Information
For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
Rat anti-Mouse CD88 antibody, clone 10/92, recognizes murine CD88, a 45 kDa G-protein coupled cell surface receptor, also known as C5aR.
Target Information
CD88 (C5aR1) is a C5a Anaphylatoxin Receptor that mediates the effects of one of the most potent chemotactic agents known.
C5AR1 has been implicated in asthma and is expressed in myeloid blood cells, brain, liver, lung, spleen, heart, kidney, and intestinal tract.
CD88 is the receptor for the chemotactic and inflammatory peptide anaphylatoxin C5a. Functionally, CD88 stimulates chemotaxis, granule enzyme release, and superoxide anion production. It is also a component of the classical complement cascade and may be involved in tissue injury associated with ischemia or sepsis.
Diseases associated with CD88 include:
- Mannose-Binding Lectin Deficiency
- Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
