Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by epitope-specific immunogen affinity chromatography. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

PSD-95/DLG/ZO-1 (PDZ) domain-containing proteins play a central role in synaptic membrane protein localization.
PICK1 (Protein Interacting with Protein Kinase C) is a synaptic PDZ domain protein that also contains coiled-coil and acidic domains.
PICK1 functions as a targeting and transport protein, interacting with PKCα, AMPA-type glutamate receptors, and other membrane receptors via its PDZ domain.
The interaction with PKCα depends on kinase activation and directs activated PKCα to membrane-anchored GluR2. Once phosphorylated, GluR2 is released and transported from the synaptic membrane in a PICK1-dependent manner.
