Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
CES2 is a member of the carboxylesterase large family, responsible for the hydrolysis or transesterification of various xenobiotics such as cocaine and heroin, as well as endogenous substrates with ester, thioester, or amide bonds. CES2 may participate in fatty acyl and cholesterol ester metabolism and play a role in the blood-brain barrier system. The encoded protein is the major intestinal enzyme involved in intestinal drug clearance.
