Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if solution is not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This antibody reacts specifically with human MEK2. Cross-reactivity is expected with mouse and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. No reactivity with MEK1 isoform.
Target Information
MAP2K2 (MEK2) is a dual specificity serine/threonine kinase involved in mitogen growth factor signal transduction. It activates ERK1/2 and MAPK enzymes by phosphorylating residues within the TEY motif of the activation loop. MEK1 and MEK2 are activated by dual phosphorylation at serine 218 and 222. Threonine 292 of MEK1 is phosphorylated by ERK2, serving as a negative feedback mechanism.
