The Human IL-37 Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures IL-37 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing creation of custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on sandwich ELISA principles, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate multiple protein targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other bodily fluids.

In the ProcartaPlex assay, Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create unique spectral signatures identified by Luminex xMAP detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX). Similar to sandwich ELISA, matched antibody pairs are used to identify proteins of interest. Each bead type is conjugated with antibodies specific for a single target protein, and detection occurs via biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead and not adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution. Detection instruments (e.g., Luminex 200) use two lasers—one for bead identification and another for quantifying RPE fluorescence proportional to protein concentration. ProcartaPlex multiplex assays enable profiling of more targets using less sample and comparable time to standard ELISA.
