Target Information
Alpha-actinin-3 (ACTN3) is a skeletal muscle protein encoded by the ACTN3 gene.
It belongs to the alpha-actin binding protein family and acts as a structural component of the sarcomeric Z line, crosslinking actin-containing thin filaments.
An allelic polymorphism in this gene produces both coding and non-coding variants; the reference genome represents the coding allele.
