Product Specific Information

The eBioCW-1.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CCR9 (CD199), the receptor for thymus-expressed chemokine (TECK). CCR9 is a member of the GPCR supergene family and plays a role in T cell progenitor trafficking within the thymus.
Expression begins at the DN3 stage, peaks at the DP stage, and down-regulates in committed CD4+ or CD8+ SP thymocytes. CCR9-deficient mice exhibit mild impairment in thymocyte development. In peripheral tissues, CCR9 is expressed on naive CD8+ T cells but not on naive CD4+ T cells.

Recommended filters: 685 LP dichroic mirror and 710/40 band pass filter (695/40 acceptable alternative).
Stable with 2% formaldehyde fixation overnight at 4°C.

Target Information

The CCR9 gene encodes a beta chemokine receptor, a seven-transmembrane GPCR involved in thymocyte migration and maturation. Its ligand is CCL25, and it is differentially expressed in T lymphocytes of the small intestine and colon, suggesting a role in immune specialization in the gastrointestinal tract.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
