This antibody detects endogenous levels of Doublecortin only when phosphorylated at Ser297.
Target Information
In the developing cortex, cortical neurons migrate over long distances to reach their final differentiation site. DCX is a cytoplasmic protein that directs neuronal migration by regulating the organization and stability of microtubules. It contains two doublecortin domains that bind microtubules and interacts with LIS1, a regulatory gamma subunit of platelet activating factor acetylhydrolase. This interaction is crucial for proper microtubule function in the developing cortex. Mutations in the DCX gene cause X-linked lissencephaly.
