The monoclonal rat IgG1, kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
Applications Reported:
eFluor® 660 Rat IgG1 Isotype Control has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and immunohistochemical staining.
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse spleen cells and normal human peripheral blood lymphocytes. The isotype control should be used at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.
Fluorochrome Information:
eFluor® 660 is a replacement for Alexa Fluor® 647. It emits at 659 nm and is excited with the red laser (633 nm). Ensure that your instrument is capable of detecting this fluorochrome.

Target Information
Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies commonly used in research and diagnostics. These antibodies, produced by rats in response to an antigen, can be purified from serum or hybridoma culture supernatants. Rat IgG1 is often used as a negative control in experiments, as it does not bind to many mammalian antigens. It is widely applied in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting for antigen detection.
Gene targeting in rats enables the study of human disease mechanisms by allowing specific gene knockout, insertion, or modification.
