The AT8 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse Ly-49G receptor from 129, FVB, BALB/c, C3H, CBA, SJL, and A/J strains, but not C57Bl/6 mice. Ly49G, a member of the Ly49 family, is expressed by a subset of NK cells.

The AT-8 (AT8) antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of BALB/c mouse splenocytes. Recommended usage ≤ 1 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell numbers may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Optimal performance requires titration.
Target Information
Mouse Ly49 receptors exhibit allelic specificity for MHC class I molecules and are believed to prevent NK cells from attacking normal cells, while allowing recognition of infected or transformed cells with down-regulated class I expression. These inhibitory receptors are also expressed on subpopulations of mouse CD8⁺ T cells.
