Product Specific Information

The 53-2.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD90.2 (Thy-1.2), a GPI-linked membrane molecule expressed by mouse thymocytes, mature T cells, and neurons in CD90.2-expressing strains such as BALB/c, CBA, C3H, C57BL/6, C58/, and SJL. Cells from CD90.1-expressing strains (e.g., PL, AKR) do not stain with 53-2.1.
CD90 is involved in T-cell adhesion and signal transduction regulation.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes at ≤0.03 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize titration for best performance.

Target Information

CD90.2 (Thy-1) is a GPI-linked glycoprotein member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts.
CD90.2 plays roles in cell-cell and cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other neural processes.
It is an 18 kDa plasma membrane antigen expressed by hematopoietic and neuronal cells, connective tissue, fibroblast and stromal lines, and tumor endothelial cells.
In mice, CD90.2 is expressed on all thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes.
