A33 유전자가 암호화하는 당단백질은 인간 대장암의 95% 이상에서 발현되는 세포 표면 항원입니다. 이 단백질은 319개의 아미노산으로 구성된 폴리펩타이드로, 분비 신호 서열과 3개의 잠재적 당화 부위를 포함합니다. 성숙 단백질은 213개의 아미노산으로 이루어진 세포외 영역, 단일 막관통 도메인, 62개의 아미노산으로 이루어진 세포내 꼬리를 포함합니다. 세포외 영역에는 면역글로불린 초가족의 CD2 하위군 특유의 두 도메인이 존재합니다.
