Target Information

DPP10 is a novel gene encoding a homolog of dipeptidyl peptidases (DPPs), enzymes that cleave terminal dipeptides from cytokines and chemokines. It represents a potential new therapeutic target for asthma. DPP10 shares structural features with the S9B family of DPP serine proteases, including DPP4, a key enzyme in chemokine processing within the innate immune system. The DPP10 locus exhibits complex transcript splicing with eight alternate first exons, four of which localize within the LD block strongly associated with asthma.
