Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid freeze–thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

The purified antibody is directed against the FLAG™ motif and is useful in detecting its presence in various assays where the epitope tag is present at either the amino or carboxy terminus of recombinant proteins. This monoclonal anti-FLAG™ tag antibody detects overexpressed proteins containing the FLAG™ epitope tag. In western blotting of bacterial extracts, the antibody does not cross-react with endogenous proteins.

Target Information

The DYKDDDDK tag, also known as FLAG tag, is a short peptide sequence commonly used as a protein tag to facilitate purification, detection, and localization. It consists of eight amino acids (Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys) and can be fused to the N- or C-terminus of a protein of interest. The FLAG tag allows easy identification and isolation of tagged proteins using anti-FLAG antibodies. It is widely used in molecular biology and biochemistry for protein-protein interaction studies, expression analysis, and localization studies. The FLAG tag is hydrophilic, minimizing interference with protein folding or activity.
