Target Information
EEF2 catalyzes the GTP-dependent ribosomal translocation step during translation elongation. During this process, the ribosome transitions from the pre-translocational (PRE) to the post-translocational (POST) state, facilitating the movement of peptidyl-tRNA and deacylated tRNA to the P and E sites, respectively. This reaction coordinates tRNA, mRNA, and ribosomal conformational changes essential for protein synthesis.
