Description:
Monoclonal Rat IgG1, kappa isotype control immunoglobulin, useful as a negative control.

Applications Reported:
APC-eFluor® 780 Rat IgG1 Isotype Control (APC-Alexa Fluor® 750 replacement) is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Use at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.

Fluorophore Characteristics:

• Excitation: 633–647 nm (Red laser)
• Emission: 780 nm
• Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal effect on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Filtration:
Post-manufacturing filtered through 0.2 µm.

Target Information

Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies produced by rats in response to antigens. It is commonly used as a negative control in immunoassays, as it does not bind to most mammalian antigens. Applications include immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting. Rat IgG1 antibodies are also valuable in gene targeting studies for disease model development.
