PA1-337 detects SREBP1 in mouse and rat samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot and ICC/IF procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects ~68 kDa (active cleaved site) and ~120 kDa (inactive precursor) proteins representing SREBP1 in mouse and rat liver and kidney samples.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues M(32) L Q L I N N Q D S D F P G L F(47) of mouse SREBP1, identical in human and rat.
PA1-337 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-274) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
Sterol regulatory element-binding proteins (SREBPs) are transcription factors of the basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper family.
Three isoforms (SREBP-1a, SREBP-1c, and SREBP-2) exist in mammalian tissues, differing in structure, regulation, and function.
SREBPs are 120 kDa inactive precursors in the ER membrane; upon activation, they are cleaved to yield 60–78 kDa active fragments.
In liver and adipose tissues, SREBPs regulate lipid and cholesterol synthesis.
SREBP-1 primarily controls triglyceride synthesis, while SREBP-2 is linked to cholesterol synthesis.
