Target Information
KHDRBS2 is an RNA-binding protein involved in the regulation of alternative splicing and mRNA splice site selection. It binds poly(A) and poly(U) homopolymers, and its RNA-binding ability is inhibited by phosphorylation via PTK6. KHDRBS2 influences exon inclusion in CD44 pre-mRNA and regulates alternative splicing of NRXN1 and NRXN3, acting synergistically or antagonistically with SAM68 depending on the context. Phosphorylation by FYN inhibits its splice site selection regulation. It may also function as an adapter protein for Src kinases during mitosis.
