Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening to select optimal clones.
Advantages include:
- Improved specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
The Myogenic determination gene (MyoD) was first identified by its ability to convert embryonic mouse fibroblast cells to muscle cells. Forced expression of MyoD (human homolog myf3) can induce muscle cell formation or activate transcriptionally inactive muscle-specific genes.
The regulatory domain of MyoD lies within a 70 amino acid region containing a basic DNA-binding motif and a helix-loop-helix (HLH) dimerization motif.
Other related genes with homology in the HLH domain include:
- myf5
- myogenin (human homolog myf4)
- myf6 (also known as MRF4 and herculin)
