Target Information
Ferritin은 원핵생물과 진핵생물 모두에서 주요 세포 내 철 저장 단백질로, 무독성 상태로 철을 저장하는 역할을 합니다.
Ferritin은 중쇄(H)와 경쇄(L)로 구성된 24개의 소단위체로 이루어진 약 450 kDa의 홀로효소이며, 최대 4,500개의 철 이온을 저장할 수 있습니다.
Ferritin 유전자의 변이는 여러 신경퇴행성 질환 및 고페리틴혈증-백내장 증후군과 관련이 있습니다.
이 단백질은 철 항상성 유지에 중요한 역할을 하는 고도로 보존된 단백질입니다.
