Target Information
Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) is a member of the glycoprotein hormone family, consisting of an identical alpha subunit and a hormone-specific beta subunit.
It is secreted by gonadotropic cells in the pituitary gland and, together with luteinizing hormone (LH), plays a key role in egg and sperm production.
Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding the same protein.
