EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)는 다양한 성장 인자에 반응하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로, 과발현은 여러 암종과 관련이 있습니다. EGFR 유전자는 인간 7번 염색체에 위치하며, HER/ERbB 단백질 패밀리(ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4 포함)에 속합니다. EGFR은 막관통 수용체로, EGF 및 TGF-α 등의 리간드 결합 시 이합체화 및 세포질 도메인 내 티로신 잔기 자가인산화를 유도합니다. 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도, 위 등 다양한 암종 및 편평상피세포암에서 관찰됩니다.
