Product Specific Information

Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates signaling in response to various growth factors. Overexpression is linked to multiple cancers, and EGFR serves as a target for biological and small-molecule therapeutics.
Encoded by the EGFR gene on chromosome 7, EGFR belongs to the HER/ERbB family (ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4). Upon ligand binding (e.g., EGF, TGF-α), EGFR dimerizes and undergoes autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues in its cytoplasmic domain.
Overexpression is observed in tumors of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, esophagus, and squamous cell carcinoma.
