Target Information
ALS2CR2 encodes a pseudokinase belonging to the serine/threonine protein kinase STE20 subfamily.
This protein is part of a complex that activates serine/threonine kinase 11 (LKB1), regulating cell polarity and energy metabolism.
It facilitates the relocation of LKB1 from nucleus to cytoplasm and is essential for G1 cell cycle arrest.
Additionally, ALS2CR2 interacts with the X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein, enhancing anti-apoptotic activity via the JNK1 pathway.
Two pseudogenes located on chromosomes 1 and 7 have been identified.
