FABP5 (fatty acid binding protein 5, psoriasis-associated)는 인간의 FABP5 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질로, PAFABP, EFABP, E-FABP, KFABP, PA-FABP 등으로도 알려져 있습니다.
이 단백질은 소수성 리간드(긴 사슬 지방산 등)에 결합하는 소형 세포질 단백질 패밀리에 속합니다.
FABP5는 표피 세포에서 발견되며, 건선 조직에서 발현이 증가된 것으로 처음 확인되었습니다.
주요 기능은 지방산의 흡수, 수송 및 대사에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
