Product Specific Information

MA5-17186 targets TGFβ1 in FACS, IHC, indirect ELISA, and WB applications, showing reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human TGFβ1 (amino acids 62–195) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17186 detects TGFβ1, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 44.3 kDa.

Target Information

TGF beta-1 is a polypeptide member of the transforming growth factor beta superfamily of cytokines, found almost ubiquitously in tissues.
Transforming growth factor (TGF)-β is stored in the extracellular matrix as a latent complex with its prodomain.
Activation of TGF-β1 requires the binding of αV integrin to an RGD sequence in the prodomain and exertion of force on this domain, which is held in the extracellular matrix by latent TGF-β binding proteins.
Latent forms are complexes of TGF-beta, an aminoterminal portion of the TGF-beta precursor (designated TGF-LAP, latency associated peptide), and a specific binding protein known as LTBP.
