This antibody detects endogenous levels of total SPINK7 protein.

Target Information

SPINK7 (serine peptidase inhibitor, Kazal type 7), also known as Ecg2 (esophagus cancer-related gene 2 protein), is a 76 amino acid secreted protein containing one Kazal-like domain and is thought to function as a serine protease inhibitor.
The SPINK7 gene is located on human chromosome 5, which comprises approximately 181 million base pairs and encodes around 1,000 genes. Chromosome 5 is associated with several genetic conditions, including:

• Cockayne syndrome (via ERCC8 gene)
• Familial adenomatous polyposis (via APC tumor suppressor gene)
• Treacher Collins syndrome (caused by insertions/deletions in TCOF1)
• Cri du chat syndrome (deletion of the p arm of chromosome 5)
• Therapy-related acute myelogenous leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome (deletion of 5q or entire chromosome 5)
