Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with human, rat, hamster, and bovine based on sequence homology.
On a non-reducing gel, intact IgG appears as a ~150 kDa band, and upon reduction, it generates a ~25 kDa light chain and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
Gap junctions enable transport of ions and metabolites between adjacent cell cytoplasms. They consist of two hemichannels, each composed of six connexin proteins. Each connexin has four transmembrane segments, two extracellular loops, and intracellular N- and C-termini.
Connexin naming now follows a sequential numbering system based on junction form, replacing the older molecular weight-based nomenclature.
Mutations in the Connexin 30 gene are associated with certain forms of deafness and hidrotic ectodermal dysplasia.
