Target Information
EHD1 is involved in early endocytic membrane fusion and trafficking of recycling endosomes. It plays roles in myoblast fusion, neurite outgrowth regulation, and is recruited to endosomal membranes upon nerve growth factor stimulation.
EHD1 belongs to a conserved gene family encoding EPS15 homology (EH) domain-containing proteins, important in protein–protein interactions and intracellular sorting.
It is also implicated in IGF1 receptor endocytosis, and multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
