Target Information

S100B는 2개의 EF-hand calcium-binding motif를 포함하는 S100 단백질군의 구성원입니다. S100 단백질은 다양한 세포의 세포질 및/또는 핵에 존재하며, 세포 주기 진행 및 분화 등 여러 세포 과정의 조절에 관여합니다.
S100B는 신경돌기 연장, 흑색종 세포 증식, Ca²⁺ flux 자극, PKC 매개 인산화 억제, 성상교세포증 및 축삭 증식, 미세소관 조립 억제 등에 관여할 수 있습니다.
이 유전자의 염색체 재배열 및 발현 변화는 Alzheimer’s disease, Down’s syndrome, epilepsy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, melanoma, type I diabetes 등 여러 질환과 관련되어 있습니다.
