Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody is specific for human MCP-1 protein. A BLAST analysis indicates cross-reactivity with MCP-1 from human sources (100% homology with the immunizing sequence). Based on 98–100% homology, cross-reactivity may occur with MCP-1 from chimpanzee, orangutan, macaque, and baboon. Cross-reactivity with MCP-1 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Cytokines are secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The encoded protein is structurally related to the CXC subfamily of cytokines, characterized by two cysteines separated by a single amino acid.
This cytokine shows chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils but not for neutrophils or eosinophils. It is implicated in diseases with monocytic infiltrates such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis. It binds to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4.
