자가포식은 세포 단백질을 자가포식소체-리소좀 경로를 통해 분해하는 과정으로, 정상적인 성장 조절 및 세포 내 영양소 보존에 중요하며, 일부 종양 세포에서는 이 과정이 결함을 보일 수 있습니다.
ATG3는 Atg8-phosphatidylethanolamine (Atg8-PE) 결합체 형성을 촉매하여 자가포식소체 형성 초기 단계에서 E2 유사 효소로 작용합니다.
