Target Information

HSPC142 is a component of the BRCA1-A complex, which specifically recognizes Lys-63-linked ubiquitinated histones H2A and H2AX at DNA lesion sites, directing the BRCA1-BARD1 heterodimer to double-strand breaks (DSBs). The BRCA1-A complex also exhibits deubiquitinase activity that removes Lys-63-linked ubiquitin from histones H2A and H2AX. Within this complex, HSPC142 is essential for complex integrity and localization at DSBs. It is also a component of the BRISC complex, which cleaves Lys-63-linked ubiquitin and helps maintain the stability and activity of associated deubiquitinases.
