Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Directed against human TGF beta receptor type-1 protein. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with mouse, rat, bovine, and wild boar based on 100% homology. Cross-reactivity is also expected with TGFb1 from non-mammalian sources due to minimal amino acid variation.
Target Information
TGFBR1 is a transmembrane serine/threonine kinase in the TGFBR1 superfamily, including ACVRs and BMPRs. Upon binding TGF-β, TGFBR2 dimerizes with and activates TGFBR1 via phosphorylation, leading to downstream phosphorylation of SMADs. TGFBR1 forms a heteromeric complex with type II TGF-beta receptors, transducing the TGF-beta signal from the cell surface to the cytoplasm. Mutations in this gene are associated with Loeys-Dietz aortic aneurysm syndrome (LDAS).
