Target Information
This gene belongs to the regulatory factor X (RFX) gene family, encoding transcription factors with a conserved winged helix DNA-binding domain. RFX2 is structurally related to RFX1, RFX3, RFX4, and RFX5, functioning as a transcriptional activator that binds DNA as a monomer or heterodimer with other RFX members. It can bind cis elements in the promoter of the IL-5 receptor alpha gene. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described, both using alternative polyadenylation sites.
