Target Information
As part of the KICSTOR complex, ITFG2 functions in the amino acid-sensing branch of the TORC1 signaling pathway.
It recruits the GATOR1 complex to lysosomal membranes, enabling interaction with GATOR2 and RAG GTPases.
Functions upstream of RAG GTPases and is essential for negative regulation of mTORC1 signaling in absence of amino acids.
Without the KICSTOR complex, mTORC1 remains constitutively localized to lysosomes and activated.
The KICSTOR complex may also regulate mTORC1 activity in response to glucose.
