Target Information
Histone H3 is one of the DNA-binding proteins found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it binds to DNA forming the nucleosome structure. Histones play a key role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. Post-translational modifications of histone H3, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influence chromatin structure and gene expression by altering the binding of transcription factors or chromatin-associated proteins.
