Recombinant soluble ICAM-1 is produced in CHO cells and corresponds in structure with natural human circulating ICAM-1, truncated at the ectodomain side of the beginning of the transmembrane region (aa.472).
BMS313 is >99% pure as demonstrated by SDS-gel electrophoresis.

Target Information

ICAM-1 (CD54) is an 85–110 kDa single-chain type I integral membrane glycoprotein with an extracellular domain of five immunoglobulin superfamily repeats, a transmembrane region, and a cytoplasmic domain.
ICAM-1 has seven potential N-linked glycosylation sites and shares amino acid sequence homology with ICAM-3 (CD50) and ICAM-2 (CD102).
It binds to integrins CD11a/CD18 (LFA-1) and CD11b/CD18 (Mac-1) and also serves as a receptor for Rhinovirus.
ICAM-1 is expressed on activated endothelial cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts, chondrocytes, B and T lymphocytes (low), monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and neutrophils. Expression increases upon inflammation and is also observed in certain carcinoma and melanoma cells.
Soluble ICAM-1 is detectable in plasma and elevated in various inflammatory syndromes.
