Product Specific Information

• This antibody does not react with human or rat.
• The epitope recognized by this antibody is sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. Acetone fixation is recommended for frozen sections.
• For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
• Rat anti-Mouse CD45 antibody, clone IBL-3/16, recognizes murine Receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase C (CD45), also known as Leukocyte common antigen, T200, or Lymphocyte antigen 5 (Ly5).

Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, accounting for about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent in non-hematopoietic tissues and cell lines.
CD45 plays a key role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions.
CD45RA, an isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes. Isoforms vary in membrane domain translocation and expression depending on cell type and physiological state.
CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, suppresses JAK kinases, and influences cytokine receptor signaling. It also modulates integrin-mediated signaling, apoptosis, and immune function regulation.
