Target Information
STING is a 379 amino acid signaling protein that plays a key role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferon (IFN-α, IFN-β) expression and establish an antiviral state. STING may function as a translocon influencing interferon induction and mediating apoptotic signaling via MHC-II association. It is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is expressed ubiquitously across tissues.
