The PA1-73054 antibody reacts with Adenovirus hexon.
PA1-73054 has been successfully used in ELISA applications.
The antibody was raised against Hexon from Adenovirus type 5.
Store at 4ºC for up to 6 months. For longer storage, store at -20ºC, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles. Protect from light.

Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase.

Target Information

Adenoviruses are DNA viruses commonly found in nature and often cause acute upper respiratory tract infections such as the common cold. There are 49 known human adenovirus serotypes divided into six subgroups (A–E). These viruses can cause respiratory illness, conjunctivitis, and gastroenteritis, and have potential oncogenic properties. In immunocompromised patients, adenoviruses can reactivate and cause disease. Adenovirus vectors, particularly Ad5-based, are widely used in gene therapy research. The adenovirus capsid consists mainly of three proteins: hexon, penton, and fiber. The hexon protein, a homotrimeric structure, is the major coat protein with approximately 240 hexons per viral particle.
