The PA1-73061 antibody reacts with Streptococcus Group A.
It has been successfully used in ELISA applications.
The antibody was raised against the type specific carbohydrate of group A Streptococcus.

Target Information

The genus Streptococcus comprises a variety of pathogenic and commensal gram-positive bacteria of medical and industrial importance. These bacteria inhabit a wide range of hosts, including humans, horses, pigs, and cows.
They commonly colonize mucosal surfaces such as the mouth, nares, and pharynx, but under certain conditions may also inhabit skin, heart, or muscle tissue.
While often part of the natural flora, Streptococcus species can cause disease under appropriate circumstances.
Group A and B streptococci are particularly significant in medicine due to their potential to cause severe infections.
