The PA1-73062 antibody reacts specifically with Streptococcus Group A and does not cross-react with other Strep groups.
It has been successfully used in immunofluorescence applications.
This antibody was raised against the type-specific carbohydrate of Group A Streptococcus.
Target Information
The genus Streptococcus includes a wide range of pathogenic and commensal gram-positive bacteria found in humans and animals such as horses, pigs, and cows.
They commonly colonize mucosal surfaces including the mouth, nares, and pharynx, but may also inhabit skin, heart, or muscle tissue.
While often part of the natural flora, under certain conditions streptococci can cause disease.
Group A and B streptococci are particularly significant in medicine due to their potential to cause severe infections.
