Mouse anti-Bovine CD11b antibody, clone CC126 recognizes the bovine CD11b cell surface antigen.
Target Information
CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM, integrin alpha-X, ITGAX) is a 165 kDa adhesion molecule that associates non-covalently with integrin beta-2 (CD18).
The CD11b/CD18 heterodimeric complex, also known as integrin alpha-M beta-2, Mac-1, and CR3 (complement receptor 3), is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, subsets of NK and dendritic cells, and microglia.
CD11b/CD18 functions as a receptor for ICAM-1, ICAM-2, ICAM-4, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X — mediating essential cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.
Expression varies by tissue type and maturation stage; peritoneal macrophages express higher levels than splenic macrophages.
CD11b dysfunction is associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related susceptibility to autoimmune disease.
