Target Information
SP3 belongs to the Sp1-related transcription factor family that regulates gene expression by binding to GC- and GT-box elements. It contains zinc finger DNA-binding and transactivation domains, functioning as a bifunctional transcription factor that can activate or repress transcription. Multiple isoforms are produced from alternative translation initiation sites, including non-AUG (AUA) codons. A pseudogene related to SP3 exists on chromosome 13.
