Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform desalting prior to use (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The CD204 (MSR1) gene encodes class A macrophage scavenger receptors, which include three isoforms (types 1, 2, and 3) generated by alternative splicing. These macrophage-specific trimeric integral membrane glycoproteins are implicated in various macrophage-associated physiological and pathological processes such as atherosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and host defense.

  • Isoforms 1 and 2 mediate endocytosis of modified low-density lipoproteins (LDLs).
  • Isoform 3, although containing the same functional domain, is retained in the endoplasmic reticulum and cannot perform endocytosis.
  • Isoform 3 can inhibit the function of isoforms 1 and 2 when co-expressed, suggesting a regulatory mechanism for scavenger receptor activity in macrophages.
    Diseases associated with MSR1 include Barrett’s Esophagus and Prostate Cancer.
