Target Information
Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP)는 특정 염증성 질환 과정의 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 효소입니다. 이 효소에는 intestinal, placental, placental-like, liver/bone/kidney 등 네 가지 주요 형태가 존재합니다. PLAP는 임신 3기 동안 태반에서 발현되는 막 결합형 아이소엔자임(Regan 및 Nagao type)과 반응합니다.
PLAP는 고환 생식세포 종양의 식별에 유용하며, PLAP 양성의 체세포 종양은 일반적으로 epithelial membrane antigen (EMA)을 발현합니다.
PLAP의 제안된 기능은 기질 무기화(matrix mineralization)로 알려져 있으나, 해당 효소가 결핍된 생쥐에서도 정상적인 골격 발달이 관찰되었습니다.
또한 PLAP는 저인산증(hypophosphatasia)과 직접적으로 연관되어 있으며, 이는 고칼슘혈증과 골격 결함을 특징으로 하는 질환입니다. 이 질환의 발현 양상은 관련 유전적 변이에 따라 다양합니다.
