Reconstitution:
Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening to collect contents at the bottom. Reconstitute in 5 mM Tris, pH 8.0, to a concentration of 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex. Store the solution at 2–8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, dilute in a buffer containing 0.1% BSA and store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.

Storage:
Lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for 1 month but should be stored at -20°C for long-term stability. Working aliquots with carrier protein are stable for at least 3 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

The FGF-17 protein belongs to the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, known for mitogenic and cell survival activities. FGF family members are involved in embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion. FGF-17 is highly expressed in the cerebellum and cortex. In mice, the homolog is found in midline structures of the forebrain, midbrain-hindbrain junction, developing skeleton, and arteries, indicating roles in CNS, bone, and vascular development.
This gene was previously referred to as FGF-13, but its amino acid sequence and chromosomal localization are identical to FGF-17.
