Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with bovine Ig (light chains). Ig light chains (kappa and lambda types) consist of a variable region and a constant region and can be differentiated by the antigenic properties of the constant region.
Western Blot protocol example:
- Incubation: Overnight at 4°C
- Sample: Bovine serum, diluted 1:50 in Laemmli reducing buffer
- Preparation: Boiled in water bath for 3 min
- Gel: 12% separating gel under reducing conditions
- Reactivity: Strong with bovine IgG light chains; weak with IgM
Target Information
Anti-Bovine secondary antibodies are affinity-purified antibodies with well-characterized specificity for bovine immunoglobulins. They are useful for detection, sorting, or purification of bovine Ig targets.
Secondary antibodies provide versatility across multiple detection systems (HRP, AP, fluorescence) and enhance sensitivity through signal amplification. These antibodies are typically generated by immunizing host animals with pooled immunoglobulins from the target species, followed by purification and modification (e.g., immunoaffinity chromatography, fragmentation, conjugation).
