This antibody reacts with bovine Ig (light chains). Ig light chains (kappa and lambda types) consist of a variable region and a constant region and can be differentiated by the antigenic properties of the constant region.

Western Blot protocol example:

• Incubation: Overnight at 4°C
• Sample: Bovine serum, diluted 1:50 in Laemmli reducing buffer
• Preparation: Boiled in water bath for 3 min
• Gel: 12% separating gel under reducing conditions
• Reactivity: Strong with bovine IgG light chains; weak with IgM
