Product Specific Information

Description:
The RPA-2.10 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD2, a 50 kDa cell surface receptor expressed by most thymocytes, all mature T cells, and a subset of NK cells. CD2 interacts with CD58 and plays a role in T-cell adhesion and activation. RPA-2.10 blocks mixed lymphocyte reactions and cross-reacts with non-human primates and pigs.

Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume; 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Fluorophore Information:
Super Bright 702 is a tandem dye excited at 405 nm and emits at 702 nm. Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Staining Guidance:
For panels using multiple Super Bright dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light Sensitivity:
Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

CD2 (LFA-2) is a monomeric surface antigen (45–58 kDa) expressed on all peripheral blood T cells and some NK cells, but not B cells. It is involved in T-cell adhesion via interaction with CD58, enhancing cell-cell contact and activation. CD2 deficiency can reduce inflammation and affect immune function. Associated diseases include immune deficiency and squamous cell carcinoma.
